Because this month’s theme is cooking, we reviewed the definition of organic foods:

Announcements:

You need to bring a dreidel. (Like the one you were given last year) for the holiday party on Dec. 20th. Betting chocolate will be supplied.

You need to bring a scout hat to the tree lighting on Dec. 3rd

After the announcements, we watched Adam 12 Season 1, Episode 1; “Pilot”. Afterward, we talked about some of the police procedures that were in the episode.

Then we went over Crime Prev. tips:

I.                   If there is a choice between risking a life or having your material property stolen, never risk a life.

II.                Don’t leave a key under a mat, or in a fake rock or somewhere that a burglar could possibly find it.

IIII.             Don’t use the fake alarm signs because most burglars know what they look like, and if they realize you’re using a fake one, they will know you don’t have a real alarm system.

Lastly we reviewed map and compass techniques and uses, and we had jelly donuts because for the trivia prize and in celebration of Hanukah. (It is traditional for Jewish families to have food that is fried in oil in honor of the sacred oil lasting 8 days.)

Laws: Sets of limits and procedures in a society. Judge: Applies a law. Crime: The convictable infringement of a law. Crime Prevention: The effort to decrease or stop crime.   You need to watch two original episodes of Adam 12 on Hulu.com, and also watch Dragnet.

Patrol Leaders Conference (PLC)
11/29/30

Cooking is next month's theme.

We decided that one meeting would be a cook-off, or a meal that we cook together, or something in that fashion.

Another meeting would be for learning cooking techniques, such as knife skills or turkey carving.

On Dec. 17th we will be going to see the Christmas lights. You should bring bug spray, and donations for hot chocolate money will be welcome.

We will be doing a campfire at the church with the Webelos on a Friday. We will roast marshmallows, and scouts should find some skits/songs/etc. to bring and use.
